DELP, 54, of 1323 Jackson Blvd., owner-operator of Delp Cleaners at the rear of 711 Jefferson St., died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in his home after a 2 1/2 month illness. DELP, 54, of 1323 Jackson Blvd., owner-operator of Delp Cleaners at the rear of 711 Jefferson St., died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in his home after a 2 1/2 month illness. Mr. Delp purchased the cleaning establishment from Ted OLSEN, with whom he had been associated since the early 1960s. Prior to that, Mr. Delp had owned the former Chalk and Cue Recreation Center and had been manager of the Rochester Sears catalogue store and the Sears store in Big Rapids, Mich. He also had been associated with Quick's Lanes here. He was born July 28, 1928 in Argos to Edward and Thelma DOWNEY DELP and had resided most of his life in Rochester. He was married May 9, 1947 in Rochester to GeorgiAnn SNYDER, who survives. He was in the U.S. Marine Corps for two years, was a Rochester City Councilman for four years, and was a member of the Rochester Elks Lodge and Manitou Moose Lodge. Surviving with the wife are two sons, John [DELP], Nokomis, Fla., and David [DELP], Rochester; a sister, Mrs. Joseph (Virginia) QUICK, Rochester; and nieces and nephews. Private services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Foster & Good Funeral Home with the Rev. Teal YOUNCE officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
