Read More	Robert Elbert Creel, 85, of Florence died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, in a Florence health-care facility after an illness. Mr. Creel was born in Florence County, a son of the late Jim and Lela Poston Creel. He attended the Hanna Schools. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Mt. Elon Free Will Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class, former superintendent of the Sunday School Department and former church usher. He retired in 2002 from Drywood Molding Co. of Florence as a carpenter and was also a retired farmer. He was predeceased by his parents; by his first wife, Emmie Deta Evans Creel, who died in 1964; and by his stepparents, Furman and Pearl Creel. Surviving are his wife, Pearline Thompson Creel of the home; son, Wayne (Annie) Creel of Martinsville, Va.; daughters, Rachel (Bertis) Turner and Fern (Carl) Gregg, both of Florence; stepsons, Larry Hartfield of the home and Steve (Becky) Hartfield of Johnsonville; sisters, Ovia Cooper and Ruth Jones, both of Pamplico; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, in Mt. Elon Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and other times at the residence, 2840 N. Old River Road, Florence, SC.
