He was employed at Chrysler in Kokomo for more than 20 years before retiring in 1984. Robert was a member of the National Rifle Association, UAW 685 and a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge. He was employed at Chrysler in Kokomo for more than 20 years before retiring in 1984. Robert was a member of the National Rifle Association, UAW 685 and a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed visiting flea markets, tinkering around the garage and spending evenings watching IU basketball. Survivors include his children, Craig L. Smith, Macy, Deborah J. Bessler, Greentown, Electa M. Davison, Kokomo, and Chris Ann Cory, Kokomo; grandchildren, Stacy (Smith) Stults, Patty (Davison) Beheler, Alyssa (Bessler) Moreland, Jacob Cory and Caleb Cory; great-grandchildren, Ian Stults, Makayla Moreland, and Andrea Moreland; and a brother, Joseph P. Smith. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; four brothers; and three sisters. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Porter Funeral Home, 726 E. North Street, Tipton, with calling from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the same date. Pastor John Martin will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Brookside Cemetery in Windfall.
