Description	:	Robert Elmer McElhinney, 90, of Morrison, Ill., formerly of Morning Sun, died Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at his home. Born Jan. 23, 1917, in Superior, Neb., he was the son of Matthew and Bertha Bazel McElhinney. On March 11, 1939, he married Eileen Wilson in Morning Sun. Mr. McElhinney was a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service in Clinton for 11 years, retiring in 1977. He farmed in Morning Sun and operated a men's clothing store in Morning Sun. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mary Ann Lambert of Camanche and Janie Billings of Sterling, Ill.; one son, Robert McElhinney of Rockford, Ill.; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Paul McElhinney of Morning Sun. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother. The funeral for Mr. McElhinney will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory.
