Robert Eugene Foltz, age 80, died on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Jefferson Healthcare. The son of Wilber and Frances (Housel) Foltz, Bob was born on July 17, 1935, in Ashtabula and had remained a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Edgewood High School. Bob was employed as a truck driver for CCC for most of his life. Bob enjoyed the outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, he passed that love on to his children and grandchildren. Robert Eugene Foltz, age 80, died on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Jefferson Healthcare. The son of Wilber and Frances (Housel) Foltz, Bob was born on July 17, 1935, in Ashtabula and had remained a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Edgewood High School. Bob was employed as a truck driver for CCC for most of his life. Bob enjoyed the outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, he passed that love on to his children and grandchildren. The family enjoyed boating and camping at Lake Chautauqua as well as traveling to Dietz Lake in Indiana. Bob's dad and the boys and grandkids enjoyed deer hunting vacations every year. A fan of all the Cleveland sports teams, Bob enjoyed the Cavalier victory with his son and grandson. Bob supported his children and grandchildren, and traveled to all of their many games and events. He enjoyed watching them improve. He was proud of their accomplishments. Bob will be remembered for his work ethic, his love of the outdoors, and his dedication to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Bob is survived by his children, Richard (Sandra) Foltz Sr. of Brookpark, Robin (Alan) Mullins of Dorset, Robert E. Foltz Jr. of Ashtabula, and Roberta Trend of Willowick; his grandchildren, Ashley Foltz, Richard E. Foltz Jr., Jacob Foltz, Nicole Foltz, Shaun Neal, Riley Mullins, and Madalyn Trend; great-grandchildren, Lucia Ball and Conner Neal; the mother of his children, Geraldine Foltz; siblings, Duane Foltz of Cleveland and Sharon (Roy) Henderson of Sumterville, Fla.; and loving nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Foltz; his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Kay Foltz; sister-in-law, Ruth Foltz; and his parents, Wilbur and Frances Foltz. A Funeral Service will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 13th, at Greenlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 3140 E. Center St., North Kingsville, Ohio. A Calling Hour will be observed from 12 Noon until time of Service at 1 p.m. If desired, contributions in Bob's name may be made to the family. Wilbur E. Foltz
ASHTABULA – Wilbur Eugene (Grumpy) Foltz, 89, of Villa at the Lake died on Sunday April 3, 2005 at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
He was born December 5, 1915 in Richmond Twp., the son of Walter A. and Dora (Hinkle) Foltz and had been a lifelong area resident.
Prior to his retirement in 1975, he worked in Bush Grove, IN in the maintenance department as a maintenance supervisor for AMTRAK and previously the New York Central and Penn Central railroads.
Mr. Foltz was a life member of the American Railway Supervisor Association, Lodge #921 and enjoyed his horses, hunting, camping, and sports in his younger years
His survivors include four children, Robert E. Foltz of Andover, James L. Foltz of Ashtabula, Duane L. Foltz of Cleveland, and Sharon M. Henderson of Sumterville, Fl; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ralph Foltz and Clifford Foltz, both of Saybrook, and Daniel Foltz of Akron.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Francis Lillian (Housel); one grandson, Ronnie Foltz; two sisters, Mary Andrea & Betty Green; one brother, Charles Foltz; and his parents.
A service will be held Wednesday April 6, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Bulah Calvary United Methodist Church 2070 St Rt 193 with the Rev. Aletta Burkholder officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, N. Kingsville.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday April 5, 2005 from 5-8 PM at Ducro Funeral Services, 4524 Elm Ave, Ashtabula, Ohio
