Collins conducted the services. Collins Lodge of Masons conducted graveside services at Grandview Cemetery, Fort Collins. Mr. Bruce was born at Page, Nebraska, December 6, 1894. October 7, 1920, he was married at Geneva to Stella McDermet of Geneva. The Bruce's resided at Geneva and Fairmont about 20 years before moving to Fort Collins, 16 years ago. He was employed nine years as electrician at the Ideal Cement plant at Laporte. The past three years he was employed as a machinist at Colorado A. & M. College at Fort Collins. The deceased, a Navy Veteran of World War I, was a member of the Methodist Church and a past master of the Masonic Lodge at Fairmont. He also belonged to the Eastern Star Order and the American Legion. Surviving are his wife and a daughter, Mrs. Betty Smith of Georgia. A son, Rex Dean Bruce, was killed in a fall from an Air Force plane in the state of Washington, February 2, 1953. Mr. Bruce was a brother of William E. Bruce of Geneva; I.A.
