Norbert Tegtmeier will officiate at the services. Mr. Schoon, Centertown, Mo., died Sept. 18 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Mo., following an extended illness. Robert F. Schoon was born May 30, 1915, in Amber, the son of George H. and Eliza Craig Schoon. He was a graduate of Anamosa High School in 1934. He married Gertrude E. Rickels on Oct. 24, 1936, in Illinois. He worked for the Lockheed Aircraft Corp. in Van Nuys, Calif, during World War II. For many years he worked as a carpenter, building several homes in the Anamosa and Monticello areas. He then moved to Hiawatha and was employed by Rockwell Collins as a security guard and was active in union activities, retiring in 1977. He spent the remaining six years living near Centertown, Mo. He was a member of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bonita Long of Anamosa and Mrs. Gloria Badding of Centertown, Mo. He is also survived by five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a half-brother. Casketbearers were Marvin Rickels, Duwain Kuper, Galen Kuper, Royal Black, Loren Black and Steve Fitzgerald. A memorial fund has been established. From the Monticello Express - 9-21-1983 p. A-19
