Read More	Roanoke Times, The (VA) - September 28, 2000 HUFFMAN, Robert Fulton, 77, of New Castle, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2000. A devoted family man, he is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy Paige Smith Huffman, formerly of Wytheville, Va.; his son, Gregory Fulton Huffman of Roanoke; his daughter and son-in-law, Angela Paige Huffman Stewart and James M. Stewart, Jr. of Richmond; and his "onliest" granddaughter, Paige McPhaul Stewart of Richmond. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lillian Huffman Owsley of Florida and is survived by a brother, Peck Trolinger Huffman of Greensboro, N.C.; his sisters, Edith Huffman Elmore of Richmond, Madge Huffman Taylor of Virginia Beach; and many beloved nieces and nephews. After studies at V.P.I., he worked at the airport in Princeton, W.Va. before enlisting in the service. A veteran of the Army Air Force in World War II who served as a mechanic on bombers, he returned to work as a mechanic and co-managed the airport at Montvale. He then went to the same position with Dixie Aviation in Roanoke, which was taken over by Piedmont Airlines, for whom he worked until retirement. He was also a pilot with an instructor's rating. An active member of Craig Healing Springs Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), he was also a Mason for over 50 years and a Past Master of Mountain Lodge #140 AF&AM; the New Castle Lions Club and the John's Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, September 30, 2000 at Paitsel Funeral Home Chapel, New Castle. Interment will follow at the Huffman Family Cemetery on Route 632 with Masonic Rites at the graveside. The family will receive friends at Paitsel Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Craig Healing Springs Christian Church, Route 2, Box 1053, New Castle, Va. 24127 or the John's Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Route 2, Box 1265, New Castle, Va. 24127.
