Description	:	Robert G. Wayman, 83, of West Burlington, died peacefully early Saturday morning, March 22, 2014, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington surrounded by his family. Born February 24, 1931, in rural Elberon, he was the son of Everett and Evelyn Gertrude Walton Wayman. On September 2, 1956, he married Magdalyn Ann Schlotterbeck in Atkins. She died April 18, 1997. He... Read More	Robert G. Wayman, 83, of West Burlington, died peacefully early Saturday morning, March 22, 2014, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington surrounded by his family. Born February 24, 1931, in rural Elberon, he was the son of Everett and Evelyn Gertrude Walton Wayman. On September 2, 1956, he married Magdalyn Ann Schlotterbeck in Atkins. She died April 18, 1997. On May 13, 1999, he married Rosemary Rita Koehler Banks in Danville. Throughout his 30 year career, Robert had been an educator, coach, and administrator for Crawfordsville Consolidated Schools, Benton Community Schools, and for the West Burlington School District. He retired in 1993, as principal of elementary and middle schools of West Burlington. He received his B.S. in Physical Education and M.A. in Education Administration from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, serving as Airman First Class during the Korean War from 1952 until 1956. He had received the 60th Strategic Recon Squadron Commendation for Standardization Program. He was currently a member of Harmony Bible Church in Danville, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and formerly a member of the Iowa State Education Association, Burlington Bowling Association, St. John's Lutheran Church in Newhall and Concordia Lutheran Church in Burlington. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, boating, bowling, golfing, attending auctions, Sequence and Pinochle, the Iowa Hawkeyes and time with family at the lake home. He loved people and he loved his Lord. Survivors include his wife,two sons, three step-daughters, 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
