Born in Sebastian, Mr. McCain came to this area in 1966 from Gainesville. He had been president and a board member of the West Volusia Little League. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Millie; a son, Robert, DeLand; three daughters, Diana Porter, St. Petersburg, Denise McCain-Tharnstrom, Pacific Palisades, Calif., and Lynne McCain, Atlanta; a brother, Alto, KHS 1957, Palm Coast; and five grandchildren. Lankford, DeLand, is in charge. Burial in Sebastian, FL on 5/17/2003. Bobby was born in Sebastian, FL. and lived most of his life in Deland, FL. He was a retired Project Engineer for Sherwood Medical Industries in Deland. He was a past president and board member of the West Volusia County Little League. Bobby suffered a long time with ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease, before it over came him. I got to see Bobby a few times in the last couple of years and enjoyed our long conversations. He was trying hard to beat the disease. He is buried in Sebastian, FL in the City Cemetery, along with his Mother & Dad and Grandfather. I stopped by and visited him in the Cemetery, this past summer. His Mother was Dorothy Katherine Herndon McCain, Jr.(3/22/1917 - 6/18/1988) KHS 1935. He is survived by his wife, Millie, and four children. He is also survived by his brother, Alto McCain, KHS 1957 and Uncle Robert Herndon, KHS 1939 (8/16/1922 - 10/4/2005). Bobby graduated from Ketterlinus High School, St. Augustine, FL in the Class of 1955.
