Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Keosauqua Methodist Church in charge of the Rev.T.Warren, Glenn Williams and Ora Williams sang with Mrs.Esther Arthmann at the organ. Pallbearers were Wayne Davidson, Joseph Newbold, Jo S.Stong,Chester Barker,Roy Pickard and Craig Wilson. The Church was packed to capacity and one of the most beautiful floral displays ever seen paid a fitting tribute to the young man whose short life had been well spent. Born in Ottumwa,Robert moved to Keosauqua with his parents when he was ten years old and had lived here since that time. He graduated high schoolin 1932 and attended Iowa wesleyan college.He was secretary to Joseph Newbold until he became deputy county treasurer in 1934. He served in this capacity until 1941,when he was appointed county treasurer to fill the unexpired term of Dan Regur.In 1942 he was elected by popular vote to the office of county treasurer and was unopposed for re-election. Handwritten: Oct.1944 He is servived by his wife, Mildred, a small daughter, Charlotte Ann, and his parents,Mr. and Mrs.E.C.Dorothy, his grandfather, Robert Marion Dorothy of Keosauqua,and a materal grandmother. Mrs. Saint Helena Matthew of Albia.
