Description	:	Robert Harry Siercks was born to his loving parents Harry Otto and Alyce Mae (Kruza) Siercks on Thursday January 2, 1936 at Fremont, Dodge County Nebraska, he was his parents' only child. Robert was raised on a farm with an address of Ames, Dodge County with the GPS of 41.545608, -96.661527 which was equal distance from Scribner, Hooper, and North Bend all in Dodge County. Robert was raised on a farm with an address of Ames, Dodge County with the GPS of 41.545608, -96.661527 which was equal distance from Scribner, Hooper, and North Bend all in Dodge County. My folks lived on the farm next to their farm. Robert attended elementary country school district twenty two of Hooper. Robert's parents moved to Fremont in 1945. Robert graduated from Fremont High in 1954. I recall visiting with Robert when he and his folks came out to our farm place just a few weeks before his fatal accident. Robert, my brother, and I leaned against the barnyard gate, we talked about things that young men talked about. Robert smoked Chesterfield straights, the days before filtered cigarettes. Probably not healthy for him, but in his case it didn't matter. Robert was living with his folks at 1518 North Clarkson, Fremont with the GPS of 41.443257, -96.489929 at the time of his death. He was an employee of the Coca-Cola Bottling Plant at Fremont. Robert was fatally injured in a single car accident, he had just acquired this car a few days before. It is believed he took his car west of Fremont to a country road to see how fast it would go. Little did Robert know he was headed for a roller coaster, a drainage road set up where the road dip for drainage then back up for the cross traffic then dip back down for drainage. Robert's car, a "48" Ford went airborne, flipping, ejecting Robert, then pinning him under the upside down car roof. Robert's car landed five hundred sixteen feet from where he lost control. If my memory is correct, his accident happened at the corner of County Road 18 and T, his car landed in the northeast ditch GPS coordinate of 41.466176, -96.577807. Robert passed before the Fremont rescue squad rolled the car off of him. If cars only had seat belts back then, he may have been alive yet today. Sadly Robert passed that day Sunday June 26, 1955 at the age 19 years, 5 months, 24 days which does not include his last day, he lived a total of 7,115 days. Robert's funeral service was held at the Chapel of Son Funeral Home on Thursday June 30, 1955 at 2p with the Rev. A. Madsen of First Lutheran officiating. Robert's was interred in section b, lot 164, grave 2 of the Memorial Cemetery. Robert's information was provided from researching many resources and my memory.
