Description	:	News of the death of Robert Henderson, residing two miles north of Central City, came as a shock to his many friends, as his illness was of short duration, though he had not been feeling well for some time. Sunday he went into a sinpor and continued to fall until death came on Tuesday morning. Deceased was a long time resident of this vicinity, coming to Central Ceity with his parents in 1854. Robert Henderson, son of William and Aley Henderson, was born August 26, 1846, near Montral Canada. He came to Jackson Township as a small boy where he remained until his death. He was 84 years, 10 months and 27 days old at the time of his death. On November 28, 1875, he was married to Helen Brown. Four children were born , James of California, William and Elsie Belle, deceased, and Lester of waterloo. Mrs Henderson died April 19, 1882. Robert was married a second time to Emma Philps and four children were born to this union. George, Madison, Jessie, deceased, and Everett. The immediate family surviving are: his widow, Emma Phelps Henderson, the sones, James Lester, Mason, and Everett, and two brothers Peter G. and Henry, besides countless other relatives and friends. Robert came from the grand old stock of Scotch and English. His father was bron on the river Clyde, nine miles above Glascow and came to America when but 13 yrs old. His mother, Aley Bursell, was a native of Yorkshire, England. Funeral Services were held from the Congregational Church, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30, Dr. U. G. Lacey in charge, and burial was made in Oak Hill Cemetery. (Information taken from 7/25/1929 article from the Central City newsletter.)
