He was the husband of Anna Lee (Street) Fowble, who died December 13, 1995. Born May 7, 1930, in Baltimore, Md., he was a son of the late Gilbert Everett and Ethel (Gardner) Fowble. He was the husband of Anna Lee (Street) Fowble, who died December 13, 1995. Born May 7, 1930, in Baltimore, Md., he was a son of the late Gilbert Everett and Ethel (Gardner) Fowble. Robert loved all animals and especially horses. He grew up wanting to be a jockey. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing and gardening. Robert worked with his father, Gib, making deliveries on egg routes in Baltimore city and always bragged they served Willie Shoemaker, the famous local jockey. Robert was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons' Lebanon Lodge, Manchester, Md. A veteran of the U. S. Marine Corp., Mr. Fowble served during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 200, Hampstead and the V.F.W. Post, 467, Westminster, Md. Additional memberships include the Loyal Order of Moose and B.P.O. Elks in Westminster, Md. Additional survivors include a daughter, Denise L. FowbleLowther and her husband Douglas of Pasedena, Md.; two brothers, Grason Fowble and Wayne Fowble and wife, Joan; and two sisters, Charlotte Wisnom and Jane Elseroad; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ruth; and a brother, Gilbert E. "Sharkie" Fowble, Jr. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, with the Rev. Michael J. Forbes officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home. There will be no public viewing. Burial will be in Emmanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Manchester, Md. Published in the Evening Sun from 10/20/2007 - 10/21/2007.
