| Description | : | Bob was a Unionist who refused to serve in the Confederate Army. He voted for Lincoln before the war. The Home Guard hunted him throughout the war, but he managed to escape capture and death. It was a very dangerous time, but he was a man of principles. His wife, Polly Bob, once threw hot water on the guards who were camping outside the home waiting to capture him. Bob was hiding in a hollow log near the camp.
