Description	:	Robert J. "Bob" Peel, 62, of West Point, died Tuesday Aug. 28, 2007, at his home. Born May 17, 1945, in Fort Madison, he was the son of Albert Irvin and Edwina Bernadine Kolz Peel. On Sept. 7, 1968, he married Connie Sue Huffman in West Point. She died Sept. 22, 1976. He married Kay Whittmore Wellman on Oct. 31, 1993, in Fort Madison. Born May 17, 1945, in Fort Madison, he was the son of Albert Irvin and Edwina Bernadine Kolz Peel. On Sept. 7, 1968, he married Connie Sue Huffman in West Point. She died Sept. 22, 1976. He married Kay Whittmore Wellman on Oct. 31, 1993, in Fort Madison. Mr. Peel was a 1963 graduate of Fort Madison High School. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He worked in maintenance at DuPont in Fort Madison. He volunteered at the Fort Madison Food Pantry, Fort Madison Community Hospital and the Emma Cornelieus Homeless Shelter, where he also served on the board. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas. Survivors include his wife, one son, Robert J. Peel Jr. of College Park, Ga.; two daughters, Christine Richmond of Lincoln University, Pa., and Gena Garcia of Loganville, Ga.; two grandchildren; three stepchildren; Tim Wellman of Des Moines, Lori Burke of Walker, and Eric Wellman of Kansas City, Kan.; 13 stepgrandchildren; one sister, Marilyn Besser of Kissimmee, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, his parents and one daughter. His body has been donated to the University of Iowa Anatomy Department. There will be a visitation from 12 to 4 p.m. Friday at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home. There will be no funeral for Mr. Peel, per his request. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Fort Madison.
