Robert was born February 9, 1922 at Ulysses, NE., the son of James and Clara (Reinders) Lambe. Robert was raised at Ulysses, NE., graduating from Ulysses (NE.) High School in 1939. Robert married Nadine Alshouse on July 27, 1946. Together they lived in Shelby, NE. and Osceola, NE., while farming. Lambe, 90, of Grand Island, NE. died Thursday, July 4, 2012 at Grand Island, NE. with his family by his side. Robert was born February 9, 1922 at Ulysses, NE., the son of James and Clara (Reinders) Lambe. Robert was raised at Ulysses, NE., graduating from Ulysses (NE.) High School in 1939. Robert married Nadine Alshouse on July 27, 1946. Together they lived in Shelby, NE. and Osceola, NE., while farming. The family moved to Central City in 1954 and Robert began work for Merrick County, NE. ASCS Office as the office manager until his retirement in 1985. He served on the City Council and was the Mayor of Central City, NE. for 8 years. He was also a volunteer at the hospital for 15 years and also a volunteer with AARP. Robert was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ulysses, NE. and a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church in Grand Island, NE. Those left to cherish his memory are: wife of 66 years, Nadine Lambe; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Terri Lambe of Lincoln, NE. and Bernie and Liz of Henderson, NV.; daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Bob Radke of Grand Island, NE. and Kathy and Jerel Ross of Grand Island, NE.; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by: parents; daughter Judy; brother Patrick; sisters Mary and Alice; and grandson Tarry. Celebration of life and burial of ashes will be at a later date in the Central City Cemetery, Central City, NE. Published in The Grand Island Independent on July 6, 201
