Kreikmeier on November 21, 1950 at St. Boniface Catholic Church at Monterey, NE. The couple farmed south west of Dodge until 1964. They then lived at Ashland and Lyons, NE, Shenandoah, Iowa and moved to Fremont in 1978. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at Fremont and the Knights of Columbus Council 1497. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #200 of Fremont and had been a volunteer fireman at Ashland, NE. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; sons, Thomas and wife, Rose Mendlik of Villisca, Iowa and Randy Mendlik of Fremont; daughters, Mary Kay Mendlik, Joan Schulz and Pamela Mendlik all of Fremont; sisters, Shirley & husband, Dennis Gordley of McPherson, KS and Mary Jane & husband, Ronnie Breitkreutz of Wisner, NE; step-brother, John & wife, Marie Woerdemann of Wisner, NE and Robert & wife, Arlene Woerdemann of Norfolk, NE; sister-in-law, Dorothy Mendlik of Denison, IA; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Paul and brother, Richard Mendlik; and step-mother, Catherine Woerdemann. Funeral Mass 10 AM, Tuesday, Nov. 15th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont. Father David Belt will officiate. Knights of Columbus Rosary, 7 PM, Monday at Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont and is open to the public. Visitation Monday 3 PM to 8 PM with the family receiving friends on Monday from 6 PM to 8 PM all at the funeral home. Visitation on Tues. at church 1hr prior to service. Burial at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery at Dodge, NE at 1:30 PM on Tuesday. (mosermemorialchapel.com/obituary)
