Mr. Eaddy died Monday, April 22, 2002. Born in Kingstree, he was the son of Eva McAlister Eaddy of Florence and the late Ernest Gideon Eaddy of Hemingway. Mr. Eaddy was a graduate of Hemingway High School and the Citadel, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Education. He was a teacher at North Charleston High School. Mr. Eaddy was a member of Lexington Baptist Church and the Unity Sunday School Class. Mr. Eaddy served six years in the U. S. Army National Guard with six months of active duty. Prior to returning as a State Officer in the Columbia office of the Department of Agriculture, he worked for USDA (ASCS) at the county, state and national levels. During his 35 years of service, he was a Specialist and Chief of Compliance with the Agricultural Program in Washington, D. C. He worked to become a National Acquired Program Specialist, and Chief of Compliance for USDA (ASCS). He was the Assistant to the Director of Cotton, Grain and Rice Division of the United States and a Liaison Officer of the American Program for USDA in S. C. Surviving is his wife Kathy Owen Eaddy of Prosperity, mother of Florence, sister, Myrtle Ree Hanna of Florence, daughter and son-in-law, Karen Eaddy Burns and Danny Burns of Blythewood, daughter, Robyn Eaddy of Atlantic City, Fla., son and daughter-im-law, Robert Jackson (Jay) Eaddy Jr. and Sherrill Eaddy of Greenwood, stepchildren, Beth Owen (Brad) McRee of Rock Hill and John M. (Mary Beth) of Richmond, Va. 13 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Johnny Eubanks, Ken Berry, Wray Freeman, James Priest, Gene Roundtree and Chris Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers will be the Unity Sunday School Class of Lexington Baptist Church. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is in charge. Published in The State Newspaper, Columbia, S. C.
