Casket Bearers will be Bob's children. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Born on August 2, 1925 at Willey, Iowa, Robert was the son of John J. and Emilia (Neppl) Broich. He attended St. Mary’s School in Willey. After graduation Bob worked for area farmers as well as helping his parents with their farm operation. On December 29, 1948, Bob was united in marriage to Edra Weeks at Annunciation Catholic Church in Coon Rapids, Iowa. The couple raised their family and farmed in the Willey area. In 1965, they bought their farm east of Viola Center. In 2001, following their retirement, Bob and Edra moved to Carroll. Bob enjoyed fishing, playing cards, woodworking and tending to the farm. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Bob was a member of St. John Paul II Parish – St. Lawrence Church in Carroll. Bob is survived by his children: Marcia (Martin), Mary Lou, Mark (Jan), Marlys, Marty (Kay), Marita (John), Mike (Shelly); 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his siblings: Clayton (Bernita), Delores (Vern), Marilyn, Joleen (Ron), John (Mary Jo), and Laurel Jean (Denis); his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Yvonne, Twilla, Dale (Roberta), Shirley, and Phyllis; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended relatives. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edra; his sons-in-law: Dennis Yawarsky and Bill Collins; and his brothers: Marvin, Thomas, and Jerome Broich.
