A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2017 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Lawler with Rev. Kyle Digmann celebrating the service. Interment will be held at the church cemetery. Friends may greet the family an hour prior to the service on Friday at the Church. Robert "Bob" Galligan was born October 11, 1963 in Mason City, IA, the son of Paul and Agnes (Gerleman) Galligan. He attended Turkey Valley Schools until graduating from Turkey Valley High School in 1982. After high school he went to the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. He graduated from UNI with a degree in Industrial Technology. He worked several jobs in industry with the majority of his career spent driving truck. He enjoyed being on the open road and the relaxing feeling of being behind the wheel. He eventually moved to Americus, Kansas where he proudly owned his home. Bob enjoyed watching the WWE and cheering for the Green Bay Packers. He was a devote Catholic and rarely missed Saturday Mass. His family meant the world to him. Bob would often plan trips or cruises that he could take with his brothers, sister, nieces and nephews. Bob is survived by two brothers, William Galligan of Waverly, IA, Patrick (Channon) Galligan of Wausau, WI; one sister Sue (Jeff) Busta of Calmer, IA; one uncle, two aunts; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and two great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Agnes; one sister-in-law Jolene Galligan. Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home in Lawler.
