Description	:	Robert "Bob" Joseph Weis was born January 25th, 1930, to Joseph and Gabriella (Koesters) Weis in Earling, Iowa. He made his first communion and was confirmed at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Earling, Iowa. Bob graduated with the class of 1949 from St. Joseph's Catholic School in Earling. On January 29th, 1951, Bob was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Schaben at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Defiance, Iowa. Read More	Robert "Bob" Joseph Weis was born January 25th, 1930, to Joseph and Gabriella (Koesters) Weis in Earling, Iowa. He made his first communion and was confirmed at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Earling, Iowa. Bob graduated with the class of 1949 from St. Joseph's Catholic School in Earling. On January 29th, 1951, Bob was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Schaben at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Defiance, Iowa. Ten children were born to this union: Bob Jr., Sheila, Joan, Tom, Nancy, Jude, Ronda, Lisa, Tony, and Russ. Following this marriage, the couple lived in Earling, Iowa and later moved to their permanent home in Defiance, Iowa. Bob started working at Iowa Beef Processors in Denison, Iowa, when the plant first opened in 1961 and continued working there for nearly 30 years. Later, he worked as the custodian of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Defiance. Bob was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and an active member of Knights of Columbus achieving the designation of 4th Degree Knight. Bob was very active. His hobbies included: walking, sports, gardening, helping Ruth canning vegetables and tying quilts, bingo, and cracking walnuts. Bob died at the Little Flower Haven in Earling, Iowa, surrounded by his family having attained the age of 88 years, 2 months, and 12 days. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sons: Tom and Tony, 2 grandchildren: Melissa Mikkelsen and Brad Chamberlain, 1 Brother, and 6 Sisters. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 67 years, Ruth of Defiance; his children, Bob Jr. (Donna) of Harlan; Sheila Mikkelsen (Ron Buckholdt) of Harlan; Joan and Jerry Chamberlain of Harlan; Nancy Falkena of Carroll; Jude Fox of Manilla; Ronda and Ted Jansen of Aspinwall; Lisa Erickson of Harlan (fiancé Bart Sullivan of Dunlap), Russ and Jessica Weis of Cambridge; 25 Grandchildren and nearly 50 great grandchildren; 4 brothers: Bud of Harlan, Ron (Rita) and Gary (JoAnn) of Omaha, NE, Joe of Norfolk, NE; 3 sisters: Agnes of Richmond, VA; Alice Alexander of Omaha, NE; and Patty (Tom) Muenchrath of Harlan, IA; brother in-law Jack McGill and Leona (Jack) Smith, Elk Horn, NE, and other family members and many friends. --- Siblings: Cletus M. Visitation will be held 4 to 8 pm, with a wake service at 6 pm, Friday, April 13th, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Defiance.
