Robert's wishes were to be cremated under the direction of Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, Aberdeen. Robert passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen. Robert Joseph was born Dec. 15, 1938, to Alfred Matt and Emma (Gardner) Janisch in Eden, S.D. He graduated from Roslyn High School and then entered the United States Marine Corps. After six years of service, he received his honorable discharge and moved to Minneapolis, Minn. He worked at a Snow Ski Store for several years, and then was employed with Northwest Airlines. He was transferred to Chicago, Ill, Brookings, S.D., Aberdeen, S.D., and then to Minneapolis, Minn. He retired in the year of 2000 and moved back to Aberdeen. Bob then worked part time at econofoods in Aberdeen. Bob enjoyed fishing, gardening and sitting out on his sister Paula's deck, watching the beauty of nature. He enjoyed teasing his niece, Lyn and his two great-nephews, Lucas and Denver. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, LaVerne, and two sisters, Marilyn Decker and LaVonne Sommer. Surviving Bob are three sisters, JoLaine Polgar of Hastings, Minn., Diane (Richard) Heggemeyer of Eagan, Minn., and Paula (Alvin) Steiner of Webster, S.D. and many nieces and nephews.
