His father William Kaller was Anna's brother. --------------- Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," Tuesday, June 21, 1960, Page 7: Robert Kaller, 55, Dies Unexpectedly Robert Kaller, 55, died suddenly at 3:30 Monday at the Kaller Cities Services station, at 1515 Albia road. His home is at 713 Richmond avenue. The fatal heart attack came while he was at the station operated by his sons. The emergency ambulance crew and a doctor were called, but he was pronounced dead. For 37 years Mr. Kaller was an employe of the Milwaukee railroad. He was a conductor since 1927. He was the son of William and Martha Foster Kaller and was born December 13, 1904 in Fairport. He lived here most of his life. Mr. Kaller was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance church, the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen No. 737, and the Knights of Pythias lodge No. 12. He was married June 25, 1923, to Zola McVey in Davenport. She survives. Other survivors include four sons, LeRoy, Lafe and William Kaller, all of Ottumwa, and Robert Kaller, Jr. of the air force, at Westover A.F.B., Mass.; one daughter, Mrs. Bonnie Best of Rock Island, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; his foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lafe Smith of Ottumwa; his mother, Mrs. Martha Marario of Milan, Ill.; and one brother, Charles Kaller of Rock Island, Ill. He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel with the Rev. Richard Easterday of the Christian and Missionary Alliance church officiating. Burial will be in the Shaul cemetery. Pallbearers will be fellow employes of the Milwaukee railroad.
