Born Nov. 21, 1927, in Barton, he was the son of the late Robert K. and Bessie (Boal) Kelley Sr., He also was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Vanessa LeMond; and a special nephew, Mitchell Gentry Sr. Mr. Kelley was retired from the federal government where he served as a mechanical engineer. Born Nov. 21, 1927, in Barton, he was the son of the late Robert K. and Bessie (Boal) Kelley Sr., He also was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Vanessa LeMond; and a special nephew, Mitchell Gentry Sr. Mr. Kelley was retired from the federal government where he served as a mechanical engineer. He was a member of the Barton Presbyterian Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Barton American Legion Post #189, the Allegany Lodge #157 AF&AM, the Alvin C. Neat VFW, Lonaconing, the Dogwood Flat Rod & Gun Club, and the Moose Lodge of Berryville, Va. Surviving are two sons, Kevin Kelley, Prescott Valley, Ariz., and Steven D. Kelley and wife Mary Ann, Falls Church, Va.; two stepsons, Doug Ford, Texas, and Robert Ford, Calif.; two daughters, Rita LeMond and husband Dan, Dewey, Ariz., and Bobbie Kay Cook and husband Greg, Rawlings; one stepdaughter, Kathy Blubaugh and husband Pete, Hyndman, Pa.; four sisters, Bessie Gentry, Carol Kyle and husband Bill, Catherine Bailey and husband Ron, all of Barton, and Sally Staup and husband Russell, Mentor, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, Stephanie Guzman, Angela Kelley, Falls Church, Va., Kaitlin and Steven Kelley, Prescott Valley, Ariz., Clinton, Adam and Danielle LeMond, Dewey, Ariz., Bobby McRobie, N.J., Sandy Rafferty, Frostburg, and Kelley and Nickolas Cook, Rawlings; several great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Louie Kyle, Barton. At his request, Mr. Kelley was cremated. The family will receive friends at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. The Barton American Legion will conduct a memorial service at the Chapel at 7 p.m. The Allegany Lodge #157 AF&AM will conduct a memorial service at 7:15 p.m. A memorial service will be conducted at the Chapel at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Peter Leathersich officiating. Mr. Kelley's cremains will be interred at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to the Barton Presbyterian Church, or to Research for Multiple Sclerosis.
