Description	:	Robert was the son of the late John H. & Margaret Fennell Atkinson. He was a native of Pickens county and was described as a well-known farmer in the upper Anderson County area. His obituary stated he died suddenly while cutting wood near his home in the Carmel church community, where he had only lived for a short while. His first wife was Mattie Alexander Atkinson, who died in 1930. He was survived by two sons and two daughters from this marriage (not named in obit). His second wife, Susie Moser Alexander Atkinson, survived him at his death, as did a step-son and a step-daughter. Also survived by three brothers and three sisters (none named in obit). His funeral was held on Saturday, January 19, 1946 at Flat Rock Baptist Church, conducted by three local pastors. Burial: West View Cemetery, Liberty SC. W. W. Robinson & Co.
