Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Tuesday, March 6, at St. John Lutheran Church, Killdeer, with the Rev. Aanen Gjovik officiating. Burial will be in Halliday Cemetery. Robert was born March 13, 1938, on a farm north of Halliday, to William and Ida (Gulling) Radke. Bob was raised and attended Halliday Public School until he graduated in 1956. He played saxophone in the band, and also played basketball while attending school. He attended Molar Barber College in 1957 in Fargo. On Oct. 20, 1957, he married Netty Ziegler at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Halliday. They had two sons, Kelly and Scott. Bob was very active in civic affairs and belonged to Chamber of Commerce, Town Criers and was charter member of the Killdeer Lions Club and a member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed cooking and did many fried walleye meals for the Lions Club. He also did steak fondues for the Chamber and was chairman of the Killdeer Rodeo parade. Bob was a longtime member and employee of North Dakota Stockmen's Association and operated a patrol car in western North Dakota. Bob was also president of International Livestock Brand Conference from 1978 to 1979. He was promoted to chief brand inspector for many years. While working for the stockmen's association, they lived in the Ellendale and Mandan areas. In 1981, he started work at American State Bank in Killdeer as a loan officer, and in 1985 they moved to Beulah, where he worked in a local bank as a loan officer. In 1994, they moved back to Killdeer and Bob returned to American State Bank, until retiring in 2000. Bob enjoyed gardening and deer hunting. Bob is survived by his wife, Netty, Killdeer; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Kelly and Debra, Richmond, Va., and Scott, Fargo; two granddaughters, Nicole and Amber; and one sister, Mrs. Elmer (Dorothy) Miller, New Town. He was preceded in death by his parents.
