Bridges, 39, Route 1, Dows was killed Wednesday when the end loader he was operating went into a ditch and pinned him underneath, according to Franklin County authorities. The accident occurred about 10:45 a.m. County Coroner Dr. Keith Hanson said Bridges was pronounced dead at the scene. A 1957 graduate of Dows High School, Mr. Bridges served with the US Navy from 1958-1962. He was a youth director and trustee at the United Methodist Church and a 4-H leader in Dows. Mr. Bridges is survived by his wife, Paulette; a daughter, Michelle and a son, Michael both at home; his mother, Mrs. Alice Bridges of Dows; two sisters: Mrs. Gene (Charlene) Albers of Dundas, Minnesota and Mrs. Lamont (Janice) Olson of Novato, California and a brother, Harold of Jacksonville, Florida. Burial was in Morgan Township Cemetery and Willim Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Bridges died Wednesday in a farm accident. Born February 5, 1939 at Hampton, Robert L. Bridges was the son of Clair and Alice Ingebritson Bridges. Following graduation from Dows High School in 1957, Mr. Bridges served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1962. He and Paulette Leach were married here June 2, 1963. Mr. Bridges was a member of the United Methodist Church, had served as its youth director and a trustee and had also been a 4-H leader. Survivors include his wife; mother; a daughter, Michelle; a son, Michael; a brother Harold of Jacksonville, Florida and two sisters: Charlene Albers of Dundas, Minnesota and Janice Olson of Novato, California.
