Read More	Obituary: HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - Robert Buffington, born June 20, 1926, in Crosby, Wyo., and died Dec. 7, 2003, in Hollywood, after a long illness. He was the son of Robert and Vane Buffington of Bridger, Mont., who both preceded him in death. Roger attended Bridger High School, then joined the army. He served with the 41st Inf. Division and was stationed in the Philippines and occupied Japan during World War II. After being released from the Army, he worked in the oil fields in South Dakota and Wyoming, and retired from the City Parks Division in Mirmar in 1987. He loved playing the lottery daily and coached a woman's semi-pro baseball team and was a Little League coach for nearly 50 years. Robert married Virginia Kehlstrom, Jan. 11, 1957, in Hollywood, where they made their home for 46 years. Together, they had five children: Vincent of St. George, Ga., Tommy of Hollywood, Maryann Duchene of Chesapeake, Va., Robert II of Hollywood and Geraldine of Hollywood, who has preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; four children and a grandson, Tim; two sisters, Wilma Aye of Springfield, Mo., and Ella Morrison of Upland, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. He has been preceded in death not only by his parents Robert and Vane Buffington, and daughter Geraldine, but by three brothers, Gerald, killed in World War II in North Africa, Garland of Powell, Wyo., and James of Worland, Wyo.; two sisters, Marion and Carol of Bridger; and a granddaughter, Shaina, of St. George. Cremation was handled at Boyd's Funeral Home of Pembroke Pines. Graveside services will be at the Bridger Cemetery in the Veterans section on May 13, at 10:30 a.m., with full military honors by VFW Post 1543. Donations may be made to the VFW Post 1543.
