Description	:	Robert L Meyer, 59, of Rhodes, died Friday, February 20 at his home. Private cremation rites will be held at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Marshalltown. Graveside services will be Thursday, February 26 at Eden Cemetery in Rhodes with Rev Kai Manimoi of Rhodes United Methodist Church officiating. Private cremation rites will be held at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Marshalltown. Graveside services will be Thursday, February 26 at Eden Cemetery in Rhodes with Rev Kai Manimoi of Rhodes United Methodist Church officiating. He was born July 30, 1938 in Hardin County to Albert L and Doris L Koppes Meyer. He graduated from Eldora High School in 1957. He married Betty Stevens and later Sharon Richeson Clark in Boone. He came to Marshalltown in 1965 when he began working for Fisher Controls. He was an inspector with Fisher Controls for 30 years before his retirement on August 19, 1995. He had been a resident of Rhodes since 1977. Following his retirement he worked as an aide with the Iowa Veterans Home and Westwood Care Center. He was a member of the UAW Local 893. Survivors include his wife, Sharon; three sons, Steven of Marshalltown, Heath of Rhodes and Joseph of Rhodes; a brother, William of Lewisville, Texas; two sisters, Betty Long of Marshalltown and Barbara Peterson of Plano, Texas; a stepmother, Ruth Meyer, Marshalltown; and two step-sisters, Ruth (Mrs Garol) Cooling of LeGrand and Mary (Joe) Griffiths of Clemons. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife. February 26, 1998 State Center Enterprise.
