Description	:	Robert L Preheim was born July 31, 1929 to Tom and Lillie (Graber) Preheim on the farm in Childstown Township in Turner County, South Dakota. This is also the place where Bob was peacefully called to his Heavenly home on Feb. 2, 2017. Bob attended country school at Hillside District 92 for eight years and then he attended Freeman Academy for four years. He was baptized into the Mennonite faith by Rev. Read More	Robert L Preheim was born July 31, 1929 to Tom and Lillie (Graber) Preheim on the farm in Childstown Township in Turner County, South Dakota. This is also the place where Bob was peacefully called to his Heavenly home on Feb. 2, 2017. Bob attended country school at Hillside District 92 for eight years and then he attended Freeman Academy for four years. He was baptized into the Mennonite faith by Rev. Willard Classen on Oct. 15, 1944 and became a member of the Salem Mennonite Church where he remained a member for the rest of his life. In 1954 he was inducted into the Armed Forces as a non-combatant and took basic training at San Antonio, Texas. This is also where he attended Occupational Therapy School and spent all of his military time as an Occupational Therapy Technician at the 97th General Hospital in Frankfort, Germany. Following his honorable discharge on April 4, 1956, Bob was employed as a foreman for Johnny Kaufman Construction, Co. On August 7, 1960 he was united in marriage to Bertha Mehlhaff. To this union three children were born: Scott, Steve and Kenna. In 1963, the family moved back onto the farm where he farmed until 1982. After farming, he worked several different jobs. One of those jobs was with Stern Oil Company where he was a propane delivery driver for 16 years. Cherishing his memory are his wife, Bertha; his children: Scott, Steve, and Kenna (Tony) Dewald; his twin grandsons: Charles and William Preheim; his sisters: Verda Schrag and Ruby (Don) Harkcom; and special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceding him in death are his parents, sister Darleen and her husband Joe Loprinzi; and his brother-in-law, Orlando Schrag.
