He was born Dec. 17, 1927, in Alma, son of William and Alta (Baker) Walker. He attended Prairie Dog Rural School District 8 south of Alma; graduated in 1945 from Alma High School; attended one year at the University of Nebraska. He entered the U.S. Army during the Korean War; married on June 8, 1951, to LaDonna Carlson in Holdrege. Farmed in the Alma area, near Overton and near Lexington; moved to his farm north of Elm Creek in 1966. Survivors include his wife; sons, Mike, Roger and Gary; sisters, Ruth Inman, Jean Christensen and June Christensen; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; also daughters-in-law, Jane Walker, Judy Walker and Julie Walker; and brothers-in-law, Don Christensen and Darrell Christensen.
