He was the son of the late Arnold S. and Helen (Ashworth) Harris of Scituate. Mr. Harris was employed at A. T. Cross in Lincoln as manager of Product Development Engineering and Quality Assurance for 20 years until his retirement in 1993. He was the son of the late Arnold S. and Helen (Ashworth) Harris of Scituate. Mr. Harris was employed at A. T. Cross in Lincoln as manager of Product Development Engineering and Quality Assurance for 20 years until his retirement in 1993. More recently, he was an adjunct professor of economics at Bryant University for many years until his illness. A 1960 electrical engineering graduate of Franklin Institute of Boston he went on to earn a bachelor of science in engineering in 1964 from Boston University. In 1985, he received a master of business administration (MBA) from Bryant University, where in 1989 he also received a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Finance (CAGS). Active in politics, Mr. Harris was a member of the South Kingstown Republican Town Committee, former chairman of the Scituate Republican Town Committee, and former member of the State Republican Committee. From 1972 to 1985 he served as Scituate's Town Treasurer. He also served as a member of the State Judicial Nominating Commission. He was a member of Mount Vernon Lodge No. 4, F. & A. M. He was a communicant of Trinity Episcopal Church, North Scituate. Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, a daughter and six grandchildren.
