Description	:	LAUREL - Robert L. Beglau, 77, of Laurel, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, June 1, 2011. He was born on Dec. 16, 1933, in Jamestown, N.D. Bob was one of six children born to Johann and Bertha (Schlenker) Beglau. Bob graduated from Jamestown High School in 1951. He entered the Army in 1954, and was honorably discharged in 1956. He was born on Dec. 16, 1933, in Jamestown, N.D. Bob was one of six children born to Johann and Bertha (Schlenker) Beglau. Bob graduated from Jamestown High School in 1951. He entered the Army in 1954, and was honorably discharged in 1956. While in the Army, he served as a military policeman and received the Good Conduct Medal. Bob moved to Montana in 1968. In 1971, he married Beverly (Jeanne) Tkachyk (Phillips). He had two children from a prior marriage, April Dawn Beglau (Stooksberry) and Valori Diane Beglau (Westerlin). Together, he and Jeanne raised her two children from a prior marriage, Ted L. Phillips, Jr., and Lisa Ann Phillips (Fabian). Bob worked for Interstate Detroit Diesel in parts and inventory control until his retirement in 1998. He returned to work at Dillard's from 2004 to 2008, when he officially retired to spend time with his wife. They were married just shy of 40 years. Bob was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all. Bob enjoyed his family and friends. His favorite past times were traveling with his wife, oil painting and performing with The Hillbilly Group (a group of men who sang Christian music to a different beat for various religious organizations). Bob is survived by his wife, Jeanne; a son, Ted L. Phillips, Jr. (Lenora); daughters, April Stooksberry (Marty), Valori Westerlin (Dennis), and Lisa Fabian (Paul). Grandchildren: Shawn, Kendall, Rachel, Kirsten, Nate, Cara, Frank, and Anton. Great grandchildren: Kali, Bailey, Colter, and Jack. Siblings: Betty Larson, Dorothy Sommerdorf, Gene Beglau, and Shirley (Joe) Lynch. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. Visitations will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 6, at Smith Funeral Chapel in Laurel. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 9, at Family Christian Center, 1002 Third Ave., Laurel. Inurnment with military honors, YCVC (6/9). Memorials may be made to the Yellowstone County Veterans Cemetery.
