Death was following a period of declining health. He was born October 5, 1930 on his family farm near Belington, a son of the late Frederick Albert and Lillian McDowell Moore. Death was following a period of declining health. He was born October 5, 1930 on his family farm near Belington, a son of the late Frederick Albert and Lillian McDowell Moore. On June 20, 1958 at Deep Creek, Maryland, he was united in marriage to the former Ruth Ann McCloud, who survives at their home in Belington. In addition to his wife he is survived by five children; Robert Lee Moore Jr, Erica Joyce Becker and husband H.J, Elizabeth Tincher and husband Calvin all of Belington, Pastor David Michael Moore and wife Nancy of Montrose, and Jennifer “JJ” Johnson and husband Brad of Elkins. Additional survivors include seven grandchildren; Amy Williams, Leslie Ogden, Kelly Vild, Kevin Tincher, Alexandra Becker, John Becker, Katie Vest, and one step granddaughter; Sheena Bennett. Also surviving are thirteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and a whole host of friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by seven siblings; Charles Moore, Harold Moore, Paul Moore, Jimmy Moore, Catherine Arbogast, Helen Shaw, infant sister Verna Carol Moore, and one grandson Jason Tincher. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Bob attended the schools of Barbour County and was previously employed by the US Postal Service in the maintenance department from which he retired. In his earlier years he attended the Evangelical United Brethren Church and more recently The First Baptist Church of Belington. Bob was a proud Veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict where he was combat wounded and received the Purple Heart. He was a lifetime member of the Laurel Mountain VFW Post 410 in Belington, The Military Order of the Purple Heart, the Disabled American Veterans, and the Clarksburg Postal Workers Union. He was a wonderful father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Friends will be received from the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N Brandenburg Street in Belington Wednesday May 16, 2018 from 12-2 pm the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Pastor Johnny Paul Williams II officiating. Interment will then follow in the Concord Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the US Army and the American Legion Post #96 of Belington.
