Description	:	Robert L. "Rob" Swanson, 63, of Farwell died Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, near Farwell. Rob was born July 17, 1948, in St. Paul to Leonard and Doris Swanson. Read More	Robert L. "Rob" Swanson, 63, of Farwell died Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, near Farwell. Rob was born July 17, 1948, in St. Paul to Leonard and Doris Swanson. Survivors are: wife, Pat; daughters and son-in-law, Julie and Justin Halbgewachs of Kearney, Amber of Heartwell and Rachael of Snyder; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Amy Swanson of Farwell and David and Kirbie Swanson of Kearney; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Mary Swanson of Newport; sister and brother-in-law, Loretta and Lee Muhr of Gering; grandchildren, Josie, Caleb and Carly Halbgewachs, Shelby, Sophie, Hannah, Jacob, Samuel and Meghan Swanson, Eliza, Caden and Milla Finken. Rob graduated from Chambers High School in Chambers in 1966. He attended St. Paul Bible College in St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated in 1971 with a B.A. in History. He married Patricia Stensgaard on June 21, 1969. They moved to Scottsbluff, where he was employed by Great Western Sugar. In 1972 their daughter, Julie was born. In 1973, they moved to Dannebrog where they began farming. In 1974 their oldest son, Michael was born. In 1979, they moved to Farwell where he farmed and raised cattle. In 1991 Rob and Pat adopted their children David, Amber and Rachael. Rob was an active member of First Baptist Church of Dannebrog where he was actively involved in numerous ministries. He especially enjoyed children's ministries. Rob loved spending time with his family, he enjoyed raising his cattle, golfing, husker football, and he was a good neighbor and friend to all. Rob was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and an infant son. Interment was in the Oakridge Cemetery, Dannebrog, NE. Published in The Grand Island Independent on September 20, 2011
