He was born Aug. 9, 1909, in Appanose County, near Coatsville, Mo., to Huse and Ann Eliza Weldon Stevens. He married Mildred Mabis on Jan. 25, 1930, in Ottumwa. He was a member of Finley Avenue and Adella Street Church of Christ. He was a 43-year employee of John Morrell & Co. and a member of the Morrell Retirees. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Roberta Cunningham of Ottumwa; a son, Robert Jr. of Westminster, Calif.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Cleo Crummitt. He was preceded in deth by his parents ana a brother, Harley. The service will be I p.m. Thursday at Shrine of Memories Funeral Home, the Rev. Clark Carlo officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the family present from 5 to 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tenco or Wapello County Public Health Care.
