Paul Dowty officiating. Interment in Prairie View Cemetery with graveside services by the American Legion. On August 3, 1921, he married Fannie Frankforth and they made their home in the Newburg and Marshalltown areas, but most of their married life was spent in the Gilman community. Mr. Tone was formerly superintendent of schools at both Gilman and Newburg. Mrs. Tone died in 1961. Also preceding him in death were nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by a son, Virgil Tone, with whom he had made his home near Gilman. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Julie and Robert Tone; two brothers, Elmer of Chicago, and Albert of Mesa, Arizona; and a sister, Emma of Phoenix, Arizona. Transcribed and added 22 April 2018
