Williams III; and Marvin G. Wimberly. Mr. Bozard died on Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Calhoun Convalescent Center following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Known to most as "Bobby," Mr. Bozard was born November 13, 1929, in St. Matthews. He was a son of the late Robert Absalom Bozard and Daisy Belle Staley Bozard. He was a graduate of St. Matthews High School, a reservist in the South Carolina National Guard, and was retired from the South Carolina Department of Transportation, where, as Resident Construction Engineer of Calhoun and Orangeburg counties, he was the first engineer in the state to hold such a position over two counties. Mr. Bozard was a life-long member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, where he served on the Administrative Board and the Trustees. A Master Mason for over 50 years, he was a member of Izlar Lodge No. 177, A.F.M. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Marion Bozard, Sr.; three sisters, Ruby Bozard Rickenbaker, Gladys Mae Bozard, and Mildred Bozard Hair; and two nephews, Jack Marion Bozard, Jr. and James Wilbur Bozard. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Joyce Ann Livingston Bozard of the home; son Robert Lewis Bozard, Jr., of Greensboro, NC; a niece, Donna Rickenbaker Allread (Billy) of St. Matthews; and great and great-great-nephews and nieces. Friends may call at the residence and Dukes-Harley Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1808 Bridge Street, St. Matthews, SC 29135. Dukes-Harley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
