He was born December 13, 1937 in Ottumwa to Raymond and Dorothy Strong Frueh. He married Judith Kay Hoover August 3, 1993. She preceded him in death June 23, 2010. Growing up in Ottumwa, he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in the state of Washington. He worked for Red Dot and for 30 years at John Deere Ottumwa Works. Bob coached Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Iowa Hawkeye Fan. Surviving are his children, Vance (Becky) Frueh and Lora Frueh (Bob Taylor) both of Ottumwa; 3 grandsons, Jeremy (Ashley) Frueh, Levi Frueh and Bryce (Morgan) Frueh; 4 great- grandchildren, Mariah, Tayton, Kendall and Fiona; 4 step-sons, Howard Bankson, Dan Hoover, Rob Hoover and Jim Hoover; 9 step-grandchildren, Joe Bankson, Brett Bankson, Brandon Hoover, Jesse Hoover, Austin Hoover, Allison Hoover, Whitnee Hoover, Courtney Hoover and Shantel Hoover; 6 step-great- grandchildren; a brother, Don Frueh of Ottumwa and a sister, Gladys Bennett of Lake Elsinore, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents. His body has been cremated. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. Inurnment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Military services will be conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O. B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion. Visitation with the family present will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice serving Davis and Wapello Counties.
