| Description | : | From the Haight family history book, Robert moved to Dakota Territory in 1880 & his parents followed him a year later. Taken from the Hamlin County history book: Robert "Mac" Haight came to Castlewood in 1880 & wrote his parents in Canada glowing descriptions of the possibilities of Dakota Territory. In 1884 he married a widow, Mrs. Minerva Isadore Sanborn Jackson of Castlewood. She died March 29, 1887 leaving 2 daughters, Myrtle & Jessie. On July 5, 1889, he married Frances "Fanny" Steele.
