Description	:	Decatur County Journal June 8, 1908 Robert McAllen Gravatt was born in Indiana on October 27, 1832 and died on June 13, 1908 at his home southeast of Leon being at the time of his death 75 years, 7 months and 16 days old. He came to Iowa in 1840 and was married to Julia Lieuallen in 1857. To them were born three children; two of them having preceded their father to that better world. Read More	Decatur County Journal June 8, 1908 Robert McAllen Gravatt was born in Indiana on October 27, 1832 and died on June 13, 1908 at his home southeast of Leon being at the time of his death 75 years, 7 months and 16 days old. He came to Iowa in 1840 and was married to Julia Lieuallen in 1857. To them were born three children; two of them having preceded their father to that better world. (surviving: daughter Julia Ann Gravatt Baker) On March 17, 1867 he was married to Lucinda Ellen Luke Fitch. To this union were born four children: James Thomas Gravatt, Sarah M. Gravatt Stevens, Mary Belle Gravatt McEndree and Charles Wesley Gravatt In 1901 he was united in marriage to Martha Arthur Hamm the daughter of John and Susan Bateman Arthur All of his children were at his bedside during his last illness. He united with the Baptist Church in 1867 and had been a faithful member ever since. The funeral service was held at the Bethel Baptist Church conducted by Rev. James A. Armstrong with burial in Bethel Cemetery. Daughter Nancy Jane married Noah P.
