Robert Miles Roudabush, son of Ernest Fredrick Roudabush and Ada Myrtle Reams, was born June 1, 1918, at Brooklyn, Iowa, and died October 8, 1993, at Iowa City, Iowa. He graduated from Brooklyn High School in 1935 and attended the University of Iowa. Bob married Marie Recka Spading at Broadway Methodist Church in Glendale, California, on January 1, 1942. Bob and Marie had two sons and a daughter. Robert Joseph resides in Greensburg, PA; Marilyn Marie resides in Garland, TX; and Richard Reece resides in Winton, CA. Bob worked at Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank, California, for five years and while there was also in the Reserved Coast Guard unit. When they returned to Brooklyn, Bob owned and operated Farm Service Station and Standard Oil Station in Brooklyn for fourteen years. In later years was a self-employed carpenter. At this same time, he enjoyed playing the bass fiddle and managed dance band for many years. Bob was an active member of the Corinthian Masonic Lodge No. 174 & A.F. & A.M. and was Worshipful Master of the Lodge in 1963, 1964, and 1982. He was the treasurer for the past nine years. He was an active member of the Order of Easter Star No. 131 and served as Worth Patron in 1968 and 1973. He was a devoted member of the Grace Methodist Church for over sixty year and was a trustee for many years. Bob is survived by his wife, Marie, his three children, seven grandchildren, and one sister, Ruth Roudabush, of Waterloo, IA.
