Both of their obituaries indicate they were buried in Burns. Orangeville Banner, February 17, 1916, page 3 - Mr. Robert Montgomery Mr. Robert Montgomery, one of the early pioneers of Mono township, passed away at his home on First St. last Friday at the ripe age of 85 years. His death followed two weeks' illness from la grippe. Apart from rheumatism, with which he had been troubled for several years, deceased had always been a remarkably healthy man and was hale and active until a short time before his death. Born in Tempo, Fermanagh, Ireland, Mr. Montgomery came to Canada with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Montgomery, when only seven years old. His parents died three weeks after landing. The family settled in Chinguacousy where the subject of our sketch lived until about 22 years of age. He then moved to Mono, settling on the e 1/2 of lot 14, Prince of Wales Road, where he cut the first tree felled on the farm. He afterwards moved across the Prince of Wales to the w 1/2 lot 14, where he resided until he retired from farming and came to Orangeville seven years ago. 58 years ago Mr. Montgomery married Mary Howard, a daughter of the late John Howard. His wife died eight years ago and he is survived by one son, James, in Toronto, and two daughters, Misses Martha and Sarah, at home. Deceased was an upright, industrious man and was very highly thought of as a neighbor. He was a Presbyterian and a staunch Conservative. His death removes the last member of a family of eleven. The funeral was held to Mono Centre Cemetery on Monday afternoon. Rev. W. M. Morris conducting the services at the house and Rev. A. J. Fowlie officiating at the grave.
