Description	:	Robert Nickolas "Nick" Harris, age 93, widower of Irene Sanders Harris of 147 Pineview Road, Union, died Monday, May 29, 2006 at Wallace Thomson Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Harris was born in Union, May 29, 1913, a son of the late Samuel Jackson Harris and Belle Palmer Harris. Read More	Robert Nickolas "Nick" Harris, age 93, widower of Irene Sanders Harris of 147 Pineview Road, Union, died Monday, May 29, 2006 at Wallace Thomson Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Harris was born in Union, May 29, 1913, a son of the late Samuel Jackson Harris and Belle Palmer Harris. He was retired from United Merchants and Manufacturing, Union Plant and was a member of Woodmen of the World. Mr. Harris was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Men's Club. Surviving are one daughter, Polly Perry of Union; two sons: Rev. Carl N. Harris and wife Shirley of Loris, and Robert L. Bentley of Blackstock; five sisters: Annie Lou Litchfield, Stella Litchfield and Easter Walton all of Charleston, Ruth Corn and husband James of Winston Salem, N.C., and Joyce Harris and husband Angelo of Mobile, Ala.; one brother: S.J. "Sam" Harris of Union; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Harris was predeceased by three brothers: Fred Harris, Roy Harris and Hamlet Harris. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church by Rev. Keith Sweatt and Rev. Larry Hyder. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Harris' grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. Mr. Harris' Sunday School Class of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and staff of Hospice Care of S.C., Union Unit are all asked to sit in a group. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6 until 8 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Van Fund, 1622 Kelly Road, Union, S.C., 29379 or to Hospice Care of S.C., Union Unit, 128 Medical Science Drive, Union, S.C. 29379.
