Ryerson, 67, who died Sunday, July 2, at the Eldora Regional Medical Center following a prolonged illness. Rev. Gordon Watson officiated with Mrs. Marcus Lamoreux as organist and Richard Schafer as vocalist. Honorary casket bearers were Robert Henning, Donald Rosine, Jim Stewart and Floyd Sisson. Flower ladies were Mrs. Donald Rosine and Mrs. Robert Henning. Casket bearers were Jeffery Henning, Ed Eischen, Myles Meyer, Brian Sisson, Wallace Reinert and Verlin McAllister with interment in Eastlawn Memory Gardens in Eldora. Military services were provided by the Walter Sayer Post of the American Legion and the Roll-Harless Post of the VFW. Andrle and Creps Funeral Home of Eldora handled funeral arrangements. Robert Ryerson was born January 11, 1922 at Pershing, Iowa. He was the son of Lester Kiowa and Velda Rowley Ryerson. He received his education in the Knoxville schools. During World War II, he served in the US Army from 1941 to 1945. On July 30, 1948, he was united in marriage with Ruth Waldo at Sidney. He was a retired truck driver for Hawkeye Woodshavings of Des Moines. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Eldora and the Walter Sayer Post of the American Legion in Eldora. He was preceded in death by his father, one brother, Carol and his stepfather, Clyde Hixson. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. John (Susan) Avery of Des Moines; two sons, Mark of Eldora and Rick of Wellsburg; seven grandchildren; his mother, Velda Hixson, and one brother, Lester Ryerson, both of Eldora.
