Description	:	Robert Paul Cook, 84, West Union, Iowa, died Friday, May 22, 2009, at his home. Robert was born on April 10, 1925, in Clermont, Iowa, to George and Louisa (Grossman) Cook. He attended Clermont Schools through the 8th grade and received a G.E.D. later in life. Robert was united in marriage to Ramona Fram on October 7, 1947, at the Bethel Presbyterian Church, West Union, Iowa. Three children were born to this union. Read More	Robert Paul Cook, 84, West Union, Iowa, died Friday, May 22, 2009, at his home. Robert was born on April 10, 1925, in Clermont, Iowa, to George and Louisa (Grossman) Cook. He attended Clermont Schools through the 8th grade and received a G.E.D. later in life. Robert was united in marriage to Ramona Fram on October 7, 1947, at the Bethel Presbyterian Church, West Union, Iowa. Three children were born to this union. Robert and Ramona farmed together on the Cook Family Farm southeast of West Union, Iowa, for a number of years. Robert then became a police officer and worked for five years in Sumner, Iowa and then as Chief of Police in Cresco, Iowa for five years. He started working for the City of Clermont in 1976 until his retirement in 1987. Robert enjoyed reading, raising roses and feeding the birds. Robert was a good carpenter. He built their home in Clermont and remodeled many of their homes that they lived in over the years. Survivors in include his wife, Ramona Cook, West Union; two children, Ricky Marie Cook Peterson, Wentzville, MO and Roger (Kay) Cook, Westgate; one-granddaughter, McKenzie Cook Peterson, Wentzville, MO. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Robert Alton Cook Jr.; one brother, Gearald Cook and one sister Priscilla Larson. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at 2:00 pm at the Bethel Presbyterian Church, West Union, Iowa. The Rev. Galen Smith will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour before services at the church on Tuesday. Burial will follow in God's Acres Cemetery, Clermont, Iowa.
