Description	:	Robert Percy Miller died Jan. 14, 2005 in Arlington, Va. at the Capital Hospice. He was born on Sept. 24, 1911 in Shepherdstown, W.Va. to Robert McSherry and Beulah Fry Miller. His father and mother relocated to his mothers' family home in Lovettsville, Va. by horse and cart when Mr. Miller was 1 1/2 years old. Read More	Robert Percy Miller died Jan. 14, 2005 in Arlington, Va. at the Capital Hospice. He was born on Sept. 24, 1911 in Shepherdstown, W.Va. to Robert McSherry and Beulah Fry Miller. His father and mother relocated to his mothers' family home in Lovettsville, Va. by horse and cart when Mr. Miller was 1 1/2 years old. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his wife Helen, who died Oct. 28, 2001 and by his older sister Katherine and younger brother Charles. Mr. Miller is survived by his four children, Robert Samuel of Lovettsville, James Clarence of Bettendorf, Iowa, JoAnn Mitchell of Summerville, S.C. and Joyce Goodson of Singapore, Singapore. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Miller farmed the Fry farm for his entire life, with the exception of two years. His farming career began in the days when all work was done by hand and horses -- compared to today where the majority of work is done by machinery. Days of work were long and hard, often beginning at 4 a.m. to get to the barn to feed and hand milk the dairy cows. The farm was recently recognized by the Virginia Department of Agriculture as a Century farm, having been in the family for over 100 years. Mr. Miller was a member of the New Jerusalem Lutheran Church and the Lovettsville Game Club. He enjoyed his family, fishing with family or friends and visiting on the back porch in the long summer evenings. Viewing will be held at Brown Funeral Home, Lovettsville, Va. on Monday, Jan. 17. from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held at New Jerusalem Lutheran Church on Tuesday, Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. Interment will immediately follow the service at Lovettsville Union Cemetery.
