He grew up in Fremont and graduated from St. Patrick's Catholic High School in 1951, where he was known by many as "Pete". Bob was born June 12, 1933 in Fremont, NE to Maurice and Anna (Boettcher) Reber. He grew up in Fremont and graduated from St. Patrick's Catholic High School in 1951, where he was known by many as "Pete". He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, May 11, 1953 to April 20, 1955 and in the U.S. Air Force December 9, 1955 to March 6, 1964. He returned to Fremont and worked as a janitor for Watson Store Fixtures, Fremont Parks & Rec., and Gordman's Half Price Store. He married Pat Dumcum and they later divorced. Bob married Elaine Wistrom on October 10, 1981 at West Side Methodist Church in rural Oakland, NE. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. Survivors include: wife, Elaine; daughters – Patti (Rodney) Vancil of Fremont, NE, Kim Hampton, of Mead, KS and Mariah (Richard) Seely of Ulysses, KS; brother – Maurice "Babe" (Judy) Reber of Bettendorf, IA; sister-in-law – Elinor Reber of Fremont, NE; several nieces and nephews; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: parents; brother – Byron Reber; and sister – Jo Ann (Reber) Foster. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Father Ron Battiato will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday, 5-8 P.M. with family receiving friends 6-7 P.M. at Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Fremont with Military Honors conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of V.F.W. Post #854 and American Legion Post #20. Memorials may be directed to the family for a fund to be established at a later date. Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont, NE is in charge of arrangements. 402-721-4490
