Description	:	Robert R. Greenslade, age 90, of Clinton, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Eagle Point Nursing Home. Robert was born in Cresco, Iowa on October 12, 1925, the son of Elmer and Nettie (Halverson) Greenslade. Robert served with the U.S Army during W.W ll. He served on board the Army Troop Transport, USAT Borquen during the D-Day invasion at Normandy. His ship was ¼ mile away from Omaha Beach. Robert was born in Cresco, Iowa on October 12, 1925, the son of Elmer and Nettie (Halverson) Greenslade. Robert served with the U.S Army during W.W ll. DuPont for over 37years. He was a member of the Eagle Club, AMVETS and Loyal Order of Moose. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and playing cards. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, a son, Del Ray in 1976, three brothers, Paul, Richard, and Elmer and two sisters, Mary and Viola. In following Robert’s wishes there will be no visitation or services. Cremation rites will be accorded with burial at Oakland Cemetery. Obituary published by The Pape Funeral Home.
